Peter Richardson’s award-winning 2011 documentary takes you into the lives of terminally ill men and women as they face end-of-life decisions and consider availing themselves of Oregon’s Death with Dignity Act, which was enacted in 1997. The film follows the journeys of everyday patients and their families in a frank but compassionate view of this most personal of decisions. Viewers follow patients as they make medical decisions, go to doctor’s appointments, and even as they take the medicine that will end their lives. This controversial subject is treated with with grace, dignity, and genuine care for the people involved.
